Edoardo Pasero

Biography
Edoardo Pasero (Alessandria, 1978) is an Italian photographer and video-maker based in Milan. His father Giuseppe was a self-thought photographer who let him cultivate his passion for photography since his early adolescence, building a camera obscura for the young Edoardo and satisfying his need to experiment with different analogic format cameras. He’ll carry this deep knowledge of the medium in every work of his, together with his humanistic studies.
With his first serie “Persona”, Edoardo Pasero starts investigating the human being from the trace he/she has on his/her skin, from tattoos to scars, and the same attraction for the unusual and the tragic in human life brings him to complete “Flesh Doll”, a visual investigation about the life of a old trans-sexual lady whose body is collapsing because of a sever allergy to silicone.
Every of his travel’s visual diary, as such as reportage, is full of dark erotism and generated by a merciless but distant gaze, that fills every picture with a singular, strong and melancholic strength. His unique way to conceive reality lets him be part of Prospekt Agency, an international agency based in Milan, with whom he realizes the show ”Carnem” (and the related workshops) and other participations to Les Rencontre d’Arles and La nuit de la photographie (Paris). With Prospekt Agency he also realizes commissioned works for corporates and magazines.
Edoardo Pasero is mainly working with video, and he temporarily abandoned his solitary research upon the human misery and greatness to concentrate on experimenting with fashion imaginary in his own particular way. His fashion works, both video and photography, are dark, deep and never prone to get smoother to satisfy the taste of an industry of clones (such as fashion world might sometimes be), but instead to force the viewer to question whether he’s looking at a fashion product or at a super refined fictional piece.
